Ireland a Client's Story

Ann & I returned from our ten-day trip to Ireland last Monday. This was our second tour that Eileen at Land and Sea Travel, LLC planned for us with Trafalgar Tours within the past year. In September 2022, we toured the Southwest which included Denver, Canyonlands, Arches, Mesa Verde, Monument Valley, Grand Canyon and Las Vegas. In a word, our trip to Ireland was spectacular! The trip was expertly planned so that visitors to the Emerald Isle came away with an excellent overview of the country. It is hard to imagine that we could have had a better tour guide (Liam Hogan) and driver Sala. Liam’s knowledge of the history of Ireland (and Northern Ireland) is second to none. He speaks four languages, including Irish. The roads in Ireland are in good shape, but narrow! Sala was not only an excellent driver, but a gentleman who engaged with all the guests. Due to the value of tourism in Ireland, the country really caters to coaches, of which there are many, as it is an excellent way to see Ireland. The local experts at the various venues were all very knowledge and friendly.
We also had frequent stops which averaged about every 1 1/2 hours. The only negative was that there were 48 guests on our tour, which became a bit unwieldy at times.
The hotel accommodations and meals were all good and we were able to get a good feel for the culture and cuisine.
With respect to the overall organization of the trip, we appreciated having the air fare included in the total cost, as it was one less thing that we had to worry about.
Although the rain did not disrupt any of our plans, it is always a good idea to be prepared for rain in Ireland!
